The story of this wine is linked to that of the people of the Langa, for it has always solaced and cheered up their arduous life.
The grape itself is hardly at all acid and is very sweet - a quality that probably explains its name, “dolcetto” (sweety) – in sharp contrast with the dry, bitterish wine produced from it.
Robust but pleasing, it is the classic wine for hot hors – d'oeuvres and first courses, but it is happily suited to any and every dish, throughout the meal. It is a wine that is ready right from spring, but it can stand a moderate aging. Best serving temperature: 18°C.
